So how long does the process take? The whole process takes about 3-4 hours depending on the individual’s hair texture, type and thickness and is complete in six easy steps.Step 1: Before starting the process it is crucial to have a consultation so your hair stylist can assess your hair in terms of dryness and previous damage. This is the most important step, because if your hair is too damaged the treatment will not work and will actually worsen your hair quality. At this point your stylist will be able to quote your treatment, which is usually priced at $400, but this will also depend on your hair. Step Two: It involves a wash to rid the hair of any unnecessary products and a pre-treatment which provides the necessary overlay of products to ensure your hair is protected throughout the process. Step Three: The Yuko Hair Straightening solution is then applied until the hair is fully saturated. The solution will need to sit in the hair, giving it enough time to change its internal structure. Step Four: The hair then needs to be washed, shampooed, conditioned and dried, ensuring that all remaining solution is completely removed from the hair. The hair is then dried and prepped for straightening. Step Five: You must straighten the hair with a flat iron to create the silky straight shape. Due to the hair being internally restructured, whatever is don’t at this point in time will determine the end result. Therefore this is an important step and the hair must be completely straight. Step Six: The final step involves applying the neutraliser which conditions and finalises the newly straightened hair. The stylist will then rinse the neutraliser and style the hair one last time to reveal the final result.
